Georgia's Board of Workers' Compensation needs more time to make the switch to the more robust electronic data interchange standard 3.1, the board announced this week.
The board, along with commissions in several other states, had planned to require insurers and self-insured employers to start reporting claims with the new standard later this year, but more time is required, according to a bulletin.
The board did not give a new target date for implementation.
