New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy signed into law a bill that increases by 66.67% the maximum payment owed to doctors for writing reports estimating permanent disability or describing the need for medical treatment.
Murphy on Thursday signed S 3309, which ups the maximum fee for doctors' reports to $1,000 from $600.
The bill also requires paying psychologists, nurse practitioners and licensed clinical social workers for writing reports or for testifying about their treatment of an injured worker.
