Widow Gets Benefits for Mechanic's Death From Apparent Heart Attack

The Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania upheld an award of death benefits to the widow of a mechanic who collapsed at work and died of an apparent heart attack. Case: TA Operating LLC v. Maurer (WCAB), No. 320 C.D. 2022, 01/17/2024, unpublished. Facts: Leonard Maurer worked as a heavy-duty diesel mechanic for TA Operating LLC. He collapsed while at work on July 14, 2018, and died shortly thereafter. No autopsy was performed.
