The Texas Division of Workers’ Compensation is lowering the discount rate used to determine the present-day value of money when settling workers’ compensation claims for the second quarter of 2019.
The DWC on Wednesday announced the discount rate for the period from April 1 through June 30 will be 6.02%. That compares to the rate of 6.16% in effect for the first three months of the year.
The discount rate is updated quarterly and based on the constant maturity rate for one-year treasury bills issued by the federal government, plus 3.5%.
