Within the space of a few weeks, national media attention has been devoted to criticism of compound medications -- altered medicines crafted by pharmacists for individual use.
Now the industry is fighting back.
A group called Patients and Physicians for Rx Access launched at the end of June and is setting up a website and social media pages. The group's website offers visitors form letters to send to their insurance companies and human resources departments, asks for their stories illustrating the importance of compound medications and asks if they would be interested in donating money. ...
