Reports on Texas’ workers’ compensation system will be due every other year, under legislation Gov. Greg Abbott enacted Tuesday.
The governor signed HB 1753, by Rep. Tom Oliverson, R-Cypress, cutting in half the frequency of reports from the Workers’ Compensation Research and Evaluation Group.
The bill that took effect immediately requires the group to issue informational report cards no later than Dec. 1 of each even-numbered year. The report cards compare quality, costs, health care provider availability and other factors.
