The Rhode Island Senate unanimously passed a bill addressing payments for major surgery, credits for overpayment of benefits, and penalties for late benefit payments.
The Senate on Thursday voted 34-0 to pass SB 1081, by Frank Ciccone, D-Providence.
The bill would repeal statutory language conditioning payment for non-emergency major surgery on permission from a court, employer or insurance carrier.
