The Washington State Department of Labor and Industries said a $2 million fine assessed to Young Corp. is among the largest in the agency’s history.
L&I said inspectors, responding to confidential complaints at the end of 2022, visited the Young Corp. headquarters in Seattle where the company makes excavator equipment. Inspectors also visited the Nordick Manufacturing machine shop division and the Meltec Foundry division.
The department said its inspectors found the following safety and health hazards:
