Police Officer's Injuries from Car Crash while Taking Kids to Day Care Was Compensable

A police officer suffered a compensable injury in a car crash while dropping his children off at day care before the start of his shift, the Appellate Court of Connecticut said in a decision released Monday. In Connecticut, police officers and firefighters are statutorily deemed to be within the "course of employment" from the moment they leave home, until they return.
