Eight months after the New Jersey Senate endorsed it, a bill that would grant cost-of-living adjustments to death benefits for essential workers is set for a floor vote in the Assembly.
SB 2476, with Sen. Troy Singleton, D-Moorestown, as a prime sponsor, would provide supplemental benefits to survivors of essential workers who died from COVID-19. It also would give an annual inflation adjustment to the payments, similar to the adjustment now in place for dependents of public safety workers who are killed in the line of duty.
