WCIRB Governing Committee Meets Thursday

The Governing Committee for the Workers’ Compensation Insurance Rating Bureau of California is meeting on Thursday to discuss the annual regulatory filing that will be submitted later in the month. Among other things, the WCIRB is again considering bringing COVID-19 claims into experience rating. The insurance commissioner in 2022 rejected a WCIRB proposal to start experience rating COVID-19 claims, and the bureau did not propose such a change in its 2023 regulatory filing.
