The Oregon Workers’ Compensation Division said it can’t waive statutory requirements, but it will consider the impact of COVID-19 in areas where it has discretion to assess penalties, according to an industry notice addressing issues relating to the coronavirus pandemic.
Claims processors who can’t meet timelines, such as providing a timely response to inquiries, should contact the division as soon as possible. The agency said that, if possible, it will determine whether it can issue a good cause extension or procedural waiver.
