Lawmakers in Ariz. and Mont. Set Sights on Claimant Fraud with Different Results

State lawmakers in Arizona and Montana have introduced bills that would require injured workers to be notified of potential imprisonment and fines for making a false claim. In one state, the proposal has bipartisan support, while in the other, the idea has opened a partisan divide. Montana House Bill 229 would require carriers to inform all claimants of the potential to be sent to prison for 10 years and fined up to $50,000 if they receive benefits by filing a false claim.
