Bill Proposes Higher Payments for Doctors

Florida lawmakers introduced legislation for the 2024 session that would increase payments to doctors for treating injured workers and giving depositions. Senate Bill 362, filed Tuesday by Sen. Jennifer Bradley, R-Fleming Island, would increase the witness fee for depositions by health care providers to $300 per hour from $200 per hour. An expert witness who has never provided direct professional services but simply reviewed medical records and provided an expert opinion would be entitled to a witness fee of $300 per day, up from the current $200 per day.
