City Reviews Drug Policy, Accepts Injured Firefighter's Comp Claim and Attorney Fees

A south Florida city has agreed to pay $60,000 in a claimant's attorney fees, more than a year after it denied a firefighter's injury claim because of his prescription drug use. The City of Coral Springs, near Miami, also is reviewing its drug-free workplace policy, after the fireman's attorney argued that the policy “failed to follow nearly every law” governing drugs in the workplace.
