WCA: Annual Expenditure Reports Due by Feb. 15

Wednesday, January 17, 2018 | 0

Carriers and self-insured employers must file annual expenditure reports by Feb. 15, the New Mexico Workers’ Compensation Administration announced Tuesday.

The annual reports detail the number of medical-only claims and the number of indemnity cases in calendar year 2017. Carriers and self-insured employers must also report the total dollar amount paid for temporary disability and permanent disability, death benefits, vocational rehabilitation, attorney fees and administrative expenses.

Because New Mexico employers are also required to reimburse injured workers for medical marijuana when recommended by a treating physician, the WCA also requires carriers and self-insured employers to list the number of claims in which they reimbursed an injured worker for medical cannabis, and the total dollar amount of reimbursements paid during the year.

Instructions for completing 2017 annual expenditure reports are here.
