Firefighters' Presumption and First Responders' Mental Health Benefits Bill May Not Get a Vote

With only a week left in the session, it would appear that a heavily lobbied bill that would establish a cancer presumption to firefighters and grant mental health benefits to first responders who witness a death might not pass through the House, as feared. The two issues were originally addressed in separate bills until they merged to become Senate Bill 593.
