The Indiana Senate this week stepped into the issue of worker misclassification by approving a bill that would require the state Workers' Compensation Board and three other agencies to annually report on the extent of the problem.
Senate Bill 309, sponsored by Sen. David Niezgodski, D-South Bend, would require the agencies to report the number of employers who misclassify at least one worker.
