Former Democratic state Sen. Eric Stewart has pleaded guilty to a theft charge for pocketing premium a business paid for workers' compensation coverage, according to media reports. Stewart entered the judicial diversion plea in Franklin County Circuit Court on Thursday. He had been indicted on charges of theft and insurance fraud.Prosecutors said Stewart sold a workers' comp policy to a couple and used the $750 for his personal use rather than buying a policy.
