Volunteer Rescue Worker Gets Comp Benefits for Injuries from Car Accident en Route to Meeting

Colorado's Court of Appeals last week ruled that a volunteer member of the Teller County Search and Rescue team was actually a county employee and therefore entitled to workers' compensation benefits for his injuries from a head-on car crash. The search and rescue team has about 50 members, who are all uncompensated for their services.
