Carriers are increasingly suspicious about fraudulent claims, with nearly three-quarters that participated in a 2018 survey saying fraud has increased either significantly or slightly, according to a new study by the Coalition Against Insurance Fraud.
The report also says carriers are increasing their use of technology in the fight against fraud. Insurers are specifically tapping into predictive modeling, link analyses and exception reporting, with a few even using artificial intelligence to try to stamp out fraud.
