Senate Approves Amended Bill Allowing Alternate Members of Appeals Board

The Utah Senate on Thursday passed an amended bill that would allow the governor to appoint members to the Labor Commission Appeals Board to fill in for other members who are not available. The amendment to HB 15 would require the governor to seek the advice of the Senate when appointing any alternates to the board. HB 15, by Rep. James Dunningan, R-Taylorsville, would allow the governor to appoint an alternate employer representative and an alternate employee representative.
