The Texas Attorney General’s Office would have the power to assume jurisdiction of all insurance fraud cases through the creation of a new state Public Integrity Unit, under a bill filed by state Rep. Debbie Riddle, R-Spring.
The bill would take the Public Integrity Unit out of the Travis County District Attorney's Office, Riddle said Monday, where it's been the center of a much-publicized controversy involving outgoing Gov. Rick Perry.
