The Rhode Island Division of Workers’ Compensation announced that intermediate spendable base wage calculations will be discontinued for new injuries in 2022 and that the compensation rate will equal 62% of the claimant’s average weekly wage.
The change will apply both to injuries occurring on or after Jan. 1, and to post-2021 recurrences of previous injuries where the claimant returned to work for an intermediate period of at least 26 weeks.
