The Kentucky Supreme Court last week ruled that a former high school teacher timely filed his workers’ compensation claim for exposure to asbestos at Letcher County High School.
Roger Hall began teaching at the school in 1976. Faculty used an old boiler room as a break area, and Hall went there daily.
In 1990, materials containing asbestos were removed from the boiler. Tiles on the floor that also contained asbestos, and they were removed as they broke and wore down.
Tiles were still being removed when Hall retired in 2003.
