Gov. Tim Walz signed into law a bill that will extend a presumption that COVID-19 is compensable for frontline workers.
Walz on Monday enacted HF 2253, which extends through the end of the year the presumption that was set to expire May 1. The presumption applies to doctors, nurses, paramedics, firefighters, police, correctional officers and child care workers.
The bill includes other provisions based on recommendations from the Workers’ Compensation Advisory Council.
