The California Division of Workers’ Compensation said its Medical Unit will begin issuing new qualified medical evaluator panels to evaluate subsequent injury claims in compliance with the recent en banc decision in Navarro v. City of Montebello.The Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board on April 2 said a worker who brings successive claims for injuries to the same body part does not need to return to the same panel-qualified medical evaluator for each of his claims.
