The California Division of Workers' Compensation is now accepting applications for the qualified medical evaluator examination scheduled for April 16.
The deadline for filing exam applications is March 17, the DWC said in an announcement. Physicians who wish to take the exam must submit an application for appointment as a qualified medical evaluator, QME Form 100.
Physicians must pay a $125 fee to take the upcoming examination. Before appointment as a QME, the physician must complete a 12-hour course in disability evaluation report writing.
