Employers must now report COVID-19-related deaths to the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration within eight hours of learning about them, the federal agency has announced.
To be reportable, the fatality must be within 30 days of exposure to the coronavirus at work, OSHA said in a revised set of frequently asked questions posted on its website.
Businesses should also report hospitalizations if they occur within 24 hours of a workplace exposure to the coronavirus, OSHA said.
