The California Workers’ Compensation Institute reports that frequency for private self-insured employers per 100 employees increased last year for the first time in a decade.
In 2017, private self-insureds reported 79,655 claims, a 1.6% increase over the 78,404 claims reported for 2016, CWCI said. While the raw number of claims reported increased for each of the past two years, the institute said the number of claims per 100 workers increased in 2017 for the first time since 2007.
