The Occupational Safety and Health Administration fined a national tank cleaning company $399,000 for safety violations following an investigation into an incident involving exposure to hydrogen sulfide.
OSHA said two employees of Trimac Transportation Inc. — operating as National Tank Services — were exposed to the flammable, toxic gas while cleaning a tanker truck in Beaumont, Texas, in April. The workers were taken to a hospital. Two firefighters responding to the scene also suffered injuries from the gas and were treated on-site.
