The California Assembly on Thursday passed a bill supporters say is intended to clarify that peace officers are allowed to file workers’ compensation claims for certain injuries they suffer when off duty and outside of the state. Also on Thursday, the Assembly Insurance Committee amended a bill to further clarify its expectations for the Division of Workers’ Compensation’s ongoing efforts to use data analytics to identify fraud.
