The Florida House of Representatives on Wednesday unanimously approved a bill that would create something of a parallel program to the state’s workers’ compensation system to treat firefighters with occupational cancer claims.
The House voted 116-0 to pass Senate Bill 426 just one day after the Senate voted 38-0 to pass the measure. If signed into law by Gov. Ron DeSantis, the bill would take effect July 1.
