The Delaware Department of Insurance is accepting public comment on changes to its workplace safety program, which would extend premium discounts to drug-free work sites.
The department, in conjunction with the Delaware Compensation Rating Bureau, has provided the workers' compensation discount program since 1989, allowing discounts of up to 19% for employers that participate in safety programs and maintain safe operations. This year, the department is proposing to add drug-free workplace efforts to the program, according to a bulletin.
