A California appellate court ruled that an oil well owner was entitled to the dismissal of a tort claim by a contractor’s injured employee for injuries from an explosion. Case: Verdugo v. California Resources Elk Hills, No. F074853, 08/20/2018, unpublished. Facts: California Resources Elk Hills owned and operated an oil well in the Elk Hills oil field in Kern County.
