An Arizona lawmaker has introduced legislation that would allow all injured workers to waive the right to future medical care when settling a claim.
The Legislature last year passed SB 1332, allowing so-called “full and final” settlements on accepted claims. These deals allow workers to sign away the right to reopen claims to request additional medical benefits. Prior to the law taking effect on Oct. 31, injured workers in Arizona were entitled to lifetime medical benefits for industrial injuries.
