The California Division of Workers’ Compensation has a new online training course covering the use of the Medical Treatment Utilization Schedule.
Recommendations in the MTUS, based on treatment guidelines from the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine, are presumed correct for the extent and scope of medical services provided to injured workers. In addition to treatment recommendations, the MTUS includes the formulary drug list, which is a roster of medications that are appropriate for use when treating occupational injuries.
