A bill that seeks to base Florida’s fee schedule on Medicare reimbursements moved Friday to the House Commerce Committee.
House Bill 7085 would also make other workers’ compensation reforms in response to a pair of state Supreme Court decisions.
The legislation, sponsored by Rep. Danny Burgess, R-Zephyrhills and chairman of the House Insurance and Banking Subcommittee, would increase the duration of total temporary wage-replacement benefits from 104 weeks to 260 weeks, in accordance with the high court’s decision in Bradley Westphal v. City of St. Petersburg.
