Partial Finger Amputation Leads to OSHA Inspection, $60,200 in Fines

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is proposing $60,200 in fines against a cabinet and stair manufacturer after an employee lost part of two fingers in an accident in April. The accident prompted the administration to inspect the Newington, Connecticut-based West Hartford Stairs and Cabinets facility, according to a Tuesday press release. OSHA found 16 serious health and safety violations at the facility.
