DWC Says Claims Administrators Should Expect More UR Audits This Year

The California Division of Workers' Compensation said Wednesday it will be stepping up audits of utilization review practices this year in response to complaints. The announcement comes only a few weeks after the DWC released scores for audits of UR organizations audited in 2015, showing the best performance in the routine reviews since the division started auditing UR shops in 2007. The 22 companies audited last year scored an average of 95%, compared to average score of 93.8% in 2014 and 93.1% in 2013.
