Utah state Sen. Karen Mayne introduced a bill that would extend a law requiring workers’ compensation carriers and self-insured employers that have not entered reimbursement contracts with hospitals to pay 85% of billed rates.
Mayne, a Democrat from West Valley City, on Tuesday introduced SB 64, which would eliminate a statute requiring carriers and employers to pay 85% of a hospital’s charged rates only “for the time period beginning on May 10, 2016, and ending on July 1, 2018.”
