Man Waited Too Long to File Suit Against Attorney

A California appellate court ruled that an injured worker waited too long to bring suit against his former attorney for allegedly stealing the proceeds of his settlement. Case: Fisher v. Channing, No. B292689, 06/17/2019, unpublished. Facts and procedural history: Perry Don Fisher was injured in a trucking accident in 1978. In 1980, Fisher hired an attorney to bring a workers’ compensation claim. In 1983, attorney Burt Channing joined the case. Channing settled the claim in 1984 for $67,000.
