Lack of Settlement Authority a Barrier to Claim Closure

In many workers’ comp cases, there’s a narrow window of opportunity when parties on both sides of the claim are close to reaching a settlement, some say. But that moment may easily slip away if the insurance adjuster does not have adequate settlement authority.
