OSHA Settles with Carpet Maker over Fire Protection Issues

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) announced an agreement Thursday with Georgia-based Mohawk Industries that will increase fire protection at four of the company's carpet-pad factories.OSHA said in a press release that the settlement with the company, based in Calhoun, Ga., resolves citations issued in June 2011 for violations at the company's factory in Johnstown, Ohio.The agreement also increases fire protection at factories in Torrington, Conn.; Tifton, Ga., and Commerce, Texas."Mohawk Industries has agreed to make an investment in the health and safety of...
