The Colorado Department of Labor and Employment reported that the 89 fatal occupational injuries recorded in 2022 represent a 7.3% decrease compared to the 96 in 2021.
The department said the Census of Fatal Occupational Injuries program showed that work injuries involving transportation were the most common cause of work-related deaths in 2022. Transportation incidents increased 32% to 33 in 2022 from 25 in 2021.
