Welder's Electrocution Prompts OSHA to Propose $115,000 in Fines

The fatal electrocution of a welder prompted an inspection by the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration that led to $115,000 in proposed fines against the scrap metal company that employed him. OSHA cited Metal Shredders Inc. in Middletown, Ohio, with eight serious safety violations involving electrical safe work practices after inspecting the company on Oct. 16, 2014.
