Bill Would Allow Additional Premiums for Firefighter COVID Claims if ARPA Covers Costs

Arizona lawmakers are sending Gov. Katie Hobbs a bill that would allow carriers providing workers’ compensation coverage for firefighters to charge additional premiums for COVID-19 claim costs — provided the federal government foots the bill. The Senate on Tuesday voted 29-0 to pass HB 2431, by Rep. David Livingston, R-Peoria. The state House of Representatives voted 57-0 to pass the bill March 9.
