Ga. Agent Accused of Selling Policies Across the Border, Pocketing the Premiums

The owner of a South Georgia insurance agency who was denied a license in Florida sold policies across the border anyway -- and pocketed the premiums, according to the Florida Division of Insurance Fraud. William David Rodeffer III of Yulee, Florida was arrested Feb. 9 for allegedly accepting payment for two policies, one of them for workers' compensation coverage, the division said in a press release. Rodeffer is awaiting trial in Georgia for similar charges and was charged in 2014 by the Nassau County Sheriff's Office in Florida for a separate but similar offense, Florida officials ...
