Broken Bones and Amputations Lead to $503k in Fines for Manufacturer

A Chicago manufacturing plant where 15 workers have suffered amputations in the past five years is facing $503,380 in proposed penalties from the federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration. BWAY Corp., a manufacturer of rigid metal, plastic and hybrid containers, has also been placed in OSHA’s severe violator program.
