The state Senate on Wednesday confirmed Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s appointment of a former cable television executive to the state Workers’ Compensation Board.
Rory Whelan was regional vice president of government relations for Time Warner Cable from 2008-16 and was principal owner of Whelan Media Strategies for 15 years prior to his stint at the cable company.
He also was the chief of staff to former state Sen. Owen H. Johnson, R-Babylon, for 16 years while he ran Whelan Media Strategies.
